Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream

I have found that it's nice to have a neutral base for this ice cream. The flavor of vanilla bean ice cream gets lost. Chocolate is too dominant. My favorite is a brown sugar custard because it pairs nicely with the ingredients in the cookie dough.
