Festive pancake mix
Pancakes
I first made packets of this mix for a boyfriend who loved pancakes about as much as he loved me, and who was going to be living on his own in Boston for the summer. Worried that he wouldn't eat, I packaged individual-sized homemade pancake mixes and included the instructions on a pretty little card. He actually made all the pancake mix I'd given him, and I think he didn't even mind the little bit of extra work he had to do--adding milk and eggs and melted butter. I thought of this now since the holidays are a time of such decadence and feasting, and it might be nice to give a food gift that recipients didn't have to eat right away. You can also include a small container of good maple syrup in the package if you wish.
