Li hing mui apple ice cream

Li Hing Mui is a Chinese preserved plum. The wikipedia article for li hing mui states that it is made of dried plum skins preserved in salt, sugar, and food coloring. In Hawaii, the powder is served on everything from fruits, to cocktails to shave ice. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I have not found a store in Nashville that sells the powder but it is available on Amazon. I prefer the Jade brand as it has a sweeter flavor. Wash your fingers or they will remain pink-orange for days.
