This is a recipe that celebrates one of my favorite flavors of early summer: sugar snap peas. I wanted to make a recipe that would take this ingredient into the realm of the main course (since usually I just inhale them raw). So I made a pesto -- using the peas instead of the basil and substituting caramelized onions for the garlic. The flecks of mint and crushed red pepper that you add when tossing the pasta with the pesto are fun little bursts of flavor.
