Most Sunday mornings my family wakes up to the smell of coffee cake baking in the oven. I love this recipe because it is not overly sweet and the warm apple slices baked inside shout “this cake is made with love” in every bite. The aroma of cinnamon and warm apples permeate throughout the house while we enjoy a lazy Sunday morning . Ask my family, they love waking up to the smell of scratch baking at its finest. <br /> <br />The first time I tried this cake was 10 years ago at a Womens’ Retreat and it is one of my most favorite and beloved coffee cakes. Everyone who tries it loves it and asks for the recipe. So if you ever find yourself waking up early on a Sunday morning, make yourself a cup of tea or coffee and bake this cake, it just may become your favorite new coffee cake.
