My mom was a great pie maker and apple was one of her favorites. She made the best pie crust ever. As a kid, the part of the pie I loved the most was the crust that she trimmed off after she fit it into the pie plate. She would take what was left over and put it on a cookie sheet, sprinkle it with sugar and cinnamon and bake in the oven. Oh, it was so, so delicious.
