Growing up in Northern NJ, it was always a treat to go to the Italian deli with my mom, because we each would get one of these cookies for the road. Now, I make them each year for the holidays. They can be a bit pricy, but are so, so worth it. I buy my pignolis at BJ's for about $7/pound.
