Have you ever thought, “I’m too old for this?” While in some circumstances, I totally understand the sentiment behind this statement, I don’t feel like it is a good life motto. This thinking can hold you back from certain fun experiences in life. For example, a few weeks ago I went to an indoor waterpark with my nieces. The first thought that went through my head was, “I am too old for waterparks.” It was muggy inside and kids were everywhere. I had awoken that morning thinking I would be sitting poolside all day with a cocktail in one hand and a good book in the other. Clearly, those are two different types of days. It wasn’t until my 4 year old niece, Kate, asked me to take her down the waterslide in which my attitude and outlook shifted. While torpedoing down the waterslide and screaming at the top of my lungs, I thought that you are never too old to have this much fun! Plus, I would have never heard my niece yell out “Ahhhhh! I hate this part!!!” every time we went through this corkscrew part of the slide. Just this past weekend we had a block party …
